What Motorcycle is Right for you?

Image result for types of motorcycle

The next step in your motorcycle buying plan after buying the proper gear is finding the right motorcycle to fit your riding style and start your new adventure on two- wheels. The problem here is that there are many motorcycles marketed to beginners that actually aren’t that great. First and for most there are many variables to look at like overall performance, stability, maneuverability, total weight, and seat height.  The next you should look as is the type of style you’re looking for cruiser, sport, or dirt and this we will go into more.

The first bike well look at is the cruiser which is probably the most iconic bike you see in the movies with the girl on the back.  The cruiser is a tough and beautiful looking bike with all the benefits of a beginner bike. Some reasons for this is that cruiser sit low in gravity and are easier to control with smooth power delivery and built for more well cruising then outright speed. Cruisers are one of the most popular bikes and the used market for them is gigantic

The next topic of discussion is Sport bikes which are the people on the opposite side of the cruiser spectrum.  These bikes are built for nothing else but speed and don’t shy away from that either some of the top sport bikes are making over 200 horsepower and going over 200 mph. Obviously with the speed you have in the palm of your hands sport bikes aren’t the best bike for a beginner.
If you really do have the need for speed there are options for you.  With more of an interest in these bikes arising from beginner riders, bike makers are catering to this crowd by introducing 300cc to 500 cc which is a lot more manageable and won’t send you flying off. If you do go for a sport bike, ride slow and take your time.

The last topic is dirt bikes, if you’re not about dealing with the stress and dangers of riding on the road there’s an option for you.  A pure dirt bike is ideal ride for someone interested in off road activities only because they are not street legal. Dirt bikes tend to be tall but have many ranges from 50cc for kids to 450-500cc for experienced riders. But out in the dirt, having bigger is not always better.

Today’s 250cc’s are still very powerful while remaining light and easy to ride. Proper gear is essential because you have more of a chance of sliding or skidding while riding in the dirt. Another thing to keep in mind since there not street legal you will need a way to transport it to the places you are going.

Hopefully, you have enough information here to make a decision on what type of bike fits you and what kind of style your looking for out of these bikes.

How to get started

Hi my name is Ben Labs, I am a 22 year old student at Radford University, and I will be writing a serious of Blogs for my Social media Marketing class. The topic of the blog is supposed to be something of passion to me and I choose motorcycling.

Motor cycling can be unique as you are. You can ride on road, off road or both – and use the same bike for either. You can go through twisty back roads, ride coast to coast. But like anything motorcycling is not second nature and there are right and wrong ways to go about it. A great place o start would be the motorcycle safety foundation course.

Everybody knows somebody who rides a motorcycle either for daily transportation or just the pure excitement and everybody who rides has heard you got to be careful motorcycles are dangerous. In the United States only 3% out of every one hundred people ride a motorcycle, in the U.S motorcycles are seen more as a way of excitement or adrenaline then a major way of transportation like Asia/Pacific region were throughout their countries motorcycle ownership is way over 75%.  But this can all change by you joining the community.
Getting started and owning a motorcycle is very simple and convenient,  Motorcycles tend to save a lot more money on gas by getting more efficient miles, service and maintience is also cheaper and easier so you can work on it yourself. Bikes will also retain their retail value and tend to rack up less mileages than a car.

The only other thing you need besides the bike is proper gear which is probably one of the most important aspect to save your life. Lastly, Helmet and gloves are a good way to start but you should also consider, gloves, pant, and boots. Ridding gear does not have to be expensive but should be DOT approved and have reasonable protection.  Now you the basics of starting up, What are you waiting for?
